Understand Pranayama.Practise with awareness.

In a yoga class, you follow the guidance: breathe in, breathe out, find the rhythm. Later, sitting on your own mat, questions remain. What distinguishes the different techniques? How do breath, Prana and Bandhas relate to each other? And how do you turn a guided experience into a practice you can continue thoughtfully at home?

This live training makes space for those questions. With Neha Pugalia, explore traditional yogic breathing techniques, breath anatomy and the foundations of Bandhas. Practise directly with her on Zoom and learn the terminology in context. Quiet, humming, energising and cooling practices become part of a structured learning journey.

What remains unclear during practice matters, too. Ask questions, discuss your observations and finish with guidance for continuing at home. The afternoon connects personal experience with background knowledge, for anyone who wants a deeper grasp of what they practise or encounter in their yoga classes.

What you take into your breath practice

The practices, their context and your questions belong together. These four areas give your learning a direction.

Recognise different practices

Explore the differences between alternate nostril breathing, audible breath, humming and stronger techniques through guided practice. Connect names you have heard in yoga classes with your own experience, so you can ask more specific questions.

Understand the context

Prana, breath anatomy and Bandhas form the foundation of the training. Explore both traditional and anatomical perspectives on the breath, giving familiar terms a clearer context.

Practise with care

A thoughtful breath practice includes guidance, adaptations and attention to your own limits. Approach stronger techniques and breath retention with that care, allowing your experience to guide the questions you bring to Neha.

Continue at home

The closing integration connects the shared session with everyday life. Use the Q&A to discuss what is still unclear and take away guidance for continuing your breath practice.

Your learning journey

An afternoon for your breath.

A structured afternoon moves from foundational techniques to questions about applying them, with a 15-minute break along the way. All times are Berlin time (CET).

15:00–15:45

Nadi Shodhana & Ujjayi

Begin with alternate nostril breathing and Ujjayi, also known as ocean breath. These foundational practices introduce the guided session, with attention to breath awareness and techniques you can return to in a regular practice.

15:45–16:30

Bhramari, Kapalbhati & Bhastrika

Meet Bhramari, the humming bee breath, then explore the stronger, energising practices of Kapalbhati and Bhastrika. Neha guides this part of the training with adaptations, helping you approach these different forms of breathwork with care.

16:30–16:45

Break

Time to move, have some water and let the practice settle.

16:45–17:30

Shitali, breath retention & Bandhas

After the break, explore cooling Shitali breath and the foundations of Kumbhaka, or breath retention. The session also introduces Mula, Uddiyana and Jalandhara Bandha in their traditional context, with a careful approach to breath retention.

17:30–18:10

Prana, breath anatomy & daily life

Connect the practice so far with its background. Traditional perspectives on Prana and breath anatomy offer further ways to understand the subject. Explore how the techniques can be approached thoughtfully in everyday life.

18:10–18:30

Integration & your questions

Bring the afternoon together through a closing integration practice. The live Q&A makes room for questions that arose while practising, and Neha offers guidance for continuing at home.

Arrive ready

Make your space a place to learn.

  1. Get your access

After booking, you receive participation information. Your Zoom access details are sent before the training.

  2. Make a little space

Comfortable clothes, a mat, cushion or chair, water and a notebook: set up a quiet practice space. You will need a reliable internet connection, ideally with a camera.

  3. Bring your questions

You learn in direct conversation with Neha. Use the live Q&A to discuss observations from your practice and make sense of what you are learning.

Practise gently, never force the breath and pause if you feel uncomfortable. Strong breathing practices and breath retention may need adaptation and may not suit every health circumstance. Discuss individual concerns before joining.
